August index for rent updates stands at 2.47%
What happened
SomosCLM reported on September 15 that the new INE index is at 2.47% in August and affects contracts signed since the Housing Law came into force. It does not equate to an automatic increase for all rents.
How this may affect your property
If your contract falls under that regime and its review is due, the published index may limit the applicable adjustment.
What you can do now
- Check the signing date and the update clause; verify the official index before communicating any changes.

Redwood City debates rent control proposal
What happened
NBC Bay Area reported on September 12 that Measure E would be put to a vote in November in Redwood City; if approved, it could revert some rents to 2025 levels and limit increases. It was still a proposal, not a regulation in effect.
How this may affect your property
If you rent in the city, the outcome could affect future rent reviews, but you should not prematurely apply an unapproved measure.
What you can do now
- Follow local election information and review current regulations before notifying increases.
